What is Virtual Learning at Horizons?
Virtual Learning at Horizons is an alternative elementary program through Mount Diablo Unified School District. The Horizons Virtual Learning Elementary Independent Study Program offers daily distance Learning and remote instruction for 1 - 5 graders through virtual, online face-to-face meetings, online instruction, and daily communication.
- The Horizons Learning Elementary Independent Study Program complies with California's Independent Study requirements. Attendance in the program is based on work completion. To maintain participation in the program students must fulfill the expectations in the learning agreement.
- A main requirement is that Elementary Virtual Learning Independent Study Program Grades 1st-5th families commit to supervise the student’s daily virtual learning for 180 synchronous minutes and students commit to complete assigned asynchronous work required (approximately 180 minutes per day).
